Mon Valley Paws is a volunteer‑driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to supporting pets, families, and local rescues throughout the Mon Valley. Volunteers raise funds and collect pet food/supplies for individuals in need in the community and nonprofit organizations who specialize in the care and rescue of animals.
The percentage of funds donated to each program at Mon Valley Paws is determined by the members of Mon Valley Paws at the annual meeting. Currently 60% of the funds raised yearly is allocated to the partnered Shelter and Rescues and the remaining 40% is allocated to the Grant programs.
Our mission is simple and powerful: To provide assistance to individuals and nonprofit organizations who specialize in animal health care and rescue — while ensuring every dollar stays in the Mon Valley.
We step in when families face unexpected veterinary costs, when rescues need help with medical bills, and when community animals require urgent care. By keeping our support local, we strengthen the entire region’s animal welfare network.
Mon Valley Paws provides:
- Emergency veterinary assistance for families in crisis
- Rescue support grants for medical care, supplies, and special cases
- Community outreach that promotes responsible pet care and local engagement
- Pet retention support to help keep animals in loving homes
Every program is designed to reduce suffering, prevent surrender, and uplift the organizations working tirelessly to save lives.
Through the generosity of our community, we’ve helped countless pets receive lifesaving care, supported local rescues during their most challenging cases, and brought people together through events that celebrate the bond between humans and animals.
Whether you donate, volunteer, sponsor an event, or simply share our mission, you become part of a compassionate movement that changes lives every day in the Mon Valley.
